Finding indications of reliability

Books

So you have found a potentially useful book. It is probably in a print format, but it might be an electronic book or on a microform. Microform books are photo-reduced copies of the original so they are identical to the print copy. For the moment, electronic books are generally maintaining the same structure as the print versions. Therefore, regardless of the actual format, you should be able to find the information you need to apply the evaluation criteria.

When you evaluate a book, you should scan the following sections of the book. Keep the evaluation criteria in mind while you look for indications of reliability.
