Search engines

Search engines are programs (software) that "search" substantial subsets of the World Wide Web and retrieve web sites according to a set algorithm and relevancy definition. Some are better than others in doing this.

Search engines do NOT evaluate web sites.

Search engines retrieve huge numbers of web sites, most of which are irrelevant and unreliable.

When you use a search engine, ALWAYS evaluate anything you find very critically.

To use a search engine effectively, you must structure your search very precisely and carefully.
